The Sun is in the middle
Mercury dances round
Venus shining brightly
Earth, jewel in the crown

Mars, our fiery neighbour
Comes close from time to time
Asteroid belt surrounding,
Rocks in a circular line

Then Jupiter the giant
With Saturn close behind
Uranus, Neptune then Pluto
Are now and then aligned

All affect each other
Every single day
Gravity binds together
In a most peculiar way

The Solar System turns
The Sun, it slowly burns
Mercury is rising, it’s hardly surprising
Oxygen, Hydrogen and Carbon it spurns

Through the periodic table, it’s perfectly able
To create the elements of life
Hydrogen and Helium churning over and over
We are stardust, each one of us, ashes of a Supernova
